Stevie's Upcoming Litter Due July/Aug 2026
The countdown is officially on! At Treska Maine Coons, we couldn't be more excited to welcome Stevie and Versace's upcoming litter. Follow Stevie's pregnancy as we share milestone updates, belly growth, nesting behaviors, and the journey leading up to the arrival of our newest Maine Coon kittens at our in-home cattery located in North Olmsted, Ohio. If she delivers on day 65 like she did with her first litter then July 31st will be their birthday! 🎂
(The countdown above is based on the far end of Stevie's estimated due date "week"—but only Mother Nature knows exactly when our kittens will decide to make their grand entrance!)
Stevie Updates
🩷 May 28–30 – Successful breedings
🩷 June 15 – Pregnancy confirmed
🩷 July 2 - Stevie is doing wonderfully! Her belly is beginning to fill out, making her pregnancy more noticeable each day. She's also become even more affectionate—which I honestly didn't think was possible—and is happily soaking up every bit of extra love and attention. Her appetite has definitely increased, and she's spending more time napping as her body works hard to grow her kittens. We couldn't be more excited to watch her pregnancy continue to progress! 🐾
🩷 July 7 - Stevie has always had an incredible intuition. Of all our cats, she's the first to sense when someone needs comfort, and she's never far away when a little extra love is needed. Since becoming pregnant, that special quality seems even more pronounced. She's become even more affectionate and seems determined to stay close, making this journey feel even more special.
🩷 July 12 - Pregnancy hasn't slowed Stevie's curiosity one bit! While I was packing for a recent cat show, I set a travel cage on the floor for the kittens. Before I knew it, Stevie had climbed right inside to inspect it for herself (See the pic below). Her growing belly may be filling out, but she's still the same inquisitive, adventurous girl who always wants to know what's going on. And yes, Stevie's belly is definitely filling out now! It's funny because her abdomen isn't getting wider as much as it's growing downward. She's eating more, sleeping more, and loves being close to us. Every day makes her pregnancy feel a little more real, and our excitement continues to grow.
🩷 July 14 - Stevie's babies Danny & Sandy had a great weekend at the Medina TICA show this past weekend. They traveled with their dad, Versace. They did so well for their first time. Sandy will soon be heading off to Greg Coberman, my mentor, for some east coast shows. Wish her luck! I met some great people, at the show including some future Treska Maine Coon buyers! How exciting!!

Stevie & Versace's Breeding
Stevie Nicks and Versace successfully mated multiple times between May 28 and May 30, 2026. Multiple breedings over several days are ideal because a female cat is an induced ovulator, meaning ovulation occurs in response to mating rather than on a fixed schedule. Repeated matings increase the likelihood that ovulation will occur and improve the chances of a successful pregnancy.
For breeders, multiple successful matings also help maximize the opportunity for fertilization, giving each litter the best possible start. While no breeding can guarantee pregnancy or litter size, Stevie and Versace's multiple breedings during her heat cycle gave us every reason to be optimistic as we began the exciting countdown to kittens.
What Colors Can We Expect?
Based on Stevie and Versace's genetics, we expect all of the kittens to be tabbies, because Versace is homozygous for the agouti (tabby) gene and Stevie also carries the agouti gene. We may see a beautiful variety of colors and patterns, including brown tabbies, brown silver tabbies, brown patched tabbies (torbies), and silver torbies (female), as well as red or red silver tabbies in males. Because both Stevie and Versace carry the dilute gene, approximately 25% of the kittens may be dilute, producing blue tabbies, blue silver tabbies, cream tabbies, cream silver tabbies, and blue-cream tabbies. (The little cream boy in this picture - he's dilute! That means he is red but carries the dilute gene so that makes him look cream.)
Of course, Mother Nature always has the final say! We won't know exactly how many kittens Stevie is carrying—or whether they'll be boys or girls—until birthing day arrives. Part of the excitement is watching each kitten make its grand entrance and discovering the unique colors, patterns, and personalities that nature has in store.
Expected Due Date
Based on Stevie's breeding dates of May 28–30, 2026, we expect her kittens to arrive around July 31 through August 2, 2026. The average feline pregnancy lasts approximately 63–65 days, although healthy queens can deliver anywhere from 61 to 67 days.
As Stevie's pregnancy progresses, we'll be closely monitoring her weight, appetite, nesting behaviors, and overall health. During the final weeks, we'll prepare a quiet, comfortable nursery where she can safely deliver and care for her kittens.
Of course, Mother Nature has the final say, so we'll let Stevie set the schedule! Be sure to check back for regular pregnancy updates as we count down to welcoming our newest Treska Maine Coons kittens into the world.
